    Default Hamilton Chess Club - Moooving Rapid 16 Oct

    To celebrate the new Hamilton Chess Centre (within Hamilton Girls High School), this Rapid is going to be bigger than usual for us.

    6 rounds of 20+5 minute rapid chess for all ages. NZCF rapid rated. All players must be NZCF registered or pay the $20 fee before round 1.

    Guaranteed Prize money of $500, including 1st $150, 2nd $120, 3rd $80 and rating group prizes for best U1800, U1400, 'u1200 and under 12' players. Guaranteed prize fund based on a minimum of 13 players.

    A lunch break after round 2. Registration payments from 10am.

    Entry fees: $30 for adults and $25 for juniors or Hamilton Chess club members. Please register via the HCC web site (hamiltonchess.net), or to check out more details of the HCC monthly chess events. Venue access is from Hill St.

    Hi All. Just an update re this Sunday's event. MORE PLAYERS WANTED! OK, the 11 already entered are in with a 50/50 chance to win the 6 prizes on offer. Good for them I say!

    Well, 26 players took up the challenge for the Moooving Rapid on 16th Oct. Ben Hague with a pick fence score stood out from the crowd - well done Ben! Noel Pinic and Daniel Han came in 2nd and 3rd overall with 4/6. Richard Dare took out the 1st in B grade also with 4/6. Joy Shu Yan Qin and Alphaeus Ang came 1st and 2nd in C grade and Qi Le Kong-Lim and Nicole Qin came 1st and 2nd in D grade. Congratulations to all players, especially the support from the out of towners - the $540 total prize money must have been an attraction! The event ran very smoothly and the venue worked well.
