It is sad to hear of the passing of Alexander Vincent Toolsie.
I believe he was the founder of the OzChess chess forum.
He passed away several months ago (15 October, 2020) but I don't see it mentioned on this website and I only just heard about it.
The obituary is mentioned on https://www.henrywalser.com/memorial...olsie/4360937/ and has some nice messages on the 'Memory Wall' there, including a post on behalf of the Concordia Chess Club in Canada, where Alex used to visit.
Included in the obituary are the comments:
"Beloved son of Karin Toolsie and the late Jagdat Vincent Toolsie, Alex was the youngest of five kids. He leaves behind: his mother Karin Toolsie, three sisters Monica Bauer, Ingrid Bohemier (Mike) and Melanie Toolsie (Andrew), and brother Rabindranath (Robin) Toolsie. ‘Uncle Sasch’ will be sorely missed by nieces and nephews: Victoria, Marion, Angelika, Renee, Melissa, John, Isaiah, Brigitte and Solomon; and he leaves behind an extended network of cherished family, friends, and colleagues across the region and globe."
Alex was born in 1975 in Kitchener-Waterloo, which is in Canada, and he used to live in Queenland for many years before returning to live in Canada for the last so many years of his life. He was a lawyer.
I did not know him very well but he left a lasting impression on me as a very funny guy. He said funny stuff like, "I went to the casino today and I body slammed it!" and he'd clap his handsand say, "Do you hear that? That's my fans" in a light-spirited way.
RIP Alexander Vincent Toolsie 1975-2020
